Galina Ostapovec

After graduating from the International University of Economics and Humanities in Rivne, she moved to Kyiv. She began her career in the News department of the daily newspaper “Gazeta po-ukrainsky,” and later worked as a journalist in the Society section of the magazine “Krayina.” From 2010 to 2014, she also worked as a journalist for the corporate publication Kraft Foods International. Since 2006, she has worked in the Blogs section of the online outlet Obozrevatel, later moving to the socio-political department. In June 2021, she joined the team at the online publication Novyny.LIVE as a journalist in the socio-political department. Since February 2022, she has been collaborating with Western media to cover Russia’s war against Ukraine, including with the German outlet Katapult Ukraine, IWPR, IJNet, JADU, and DRON. In April 2023, she was named Journalist of the Month by the international media project IJNet.
